Windows Security Warning when moving files in F drive - Fix: “These files might be harmful to your computer” prompt when moving files from file server
Users see a Windows Security prompt—“These files might be harmful to your computer”—when copying/moving files from our file server. This happens when Windows treats the source as Internet/Untrusted instead of Local Intranet, or when files carry a Mark-of-the-Web (MOTW).
Root Cause
-
The server/share is not listed in the Local intranet zone, so Attachment Manager warns on file operations.
-
(Sometimes) Individual files are tagged.
FIX
-
Open Control Panel → Internet Options (search “Internet Options”).
-
Go to Security tab → select Local intranet → click Sites → Advanced.
-
Add the following (adjust for your environment): \\26.159.157.183\ and/or \\10.1.1.6\
-
Click Add, then Close → OK → Apply.
-
Close File Explorer windows and retry the copy/move.
